چکیده

Abstract Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic recurrent debilitating condition. It characterized by abscesses, and can be complicated rupture, scarring sinuses. The management of HS multidisciplinary, involving general lifestyle modification, medical treatment, surgery. A wide range surgical interventions have been described for disease control management. However, strategies are highly variable. We present case 33-year-old female with extensive in both axillae resulting extreme pain, restriction shoulders movement severe impact on quality life. After failure non-operative management, she underwent excision all pathological axillary disease. One week later, had single-stage reconstruction Matriderm®. meshed split thickness skin graft. Acellular dermal substitutes may an alternative to conventional means hidradenitis reconstruction, producing subtle, pliable, durable skin.

Novel Technique for Management of Axillary Hidradenitis Suppurativa Using Setons

Management of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) of the axilla which is nonresponding to conservative management presents a significant therapeutic challenge. Most surgical treatment options are associated with significant morbidities and prolonged hospital stay. We present a technique of management of HS using setons which is simple and allows the ongoing treatment to be done on an outpatient basis...

As conservative treatment can usually not prevent recurrence, surgical treatment is the method of choice. METHODS We report on 20 patients with axillary hidradenitis suppurativa. The inflammatory region was excised in a ...

Axillary Reconstruction for Hidradenitis Suppurativa with an Inner-Arm Transposition Flap Creating a Brachioplasty Effect

BACKGROUND Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic skin condition that can affect any area with apocrine sweat glands and has the potential to involve multiple sites concurrently. Commonly affected sites include the axilla, groin, perineum and perianal areas. In this study we performed a literature review on the surgical methods for HS and describe an innovative technique for reconstructing ...

Aerobic and anaerobic microbiology of axillary hidradenitis suppurativa.

A retrospective review of the microbiological and clinical data of 17 specimens obtained from axillary hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) over a period of 6 years was undertaken to study the aerobic and anaerobic microbiology of this condition. A total of 42 bacterial isolates (2.5 per specimen) were obtained, 12 aerobic or facultative (0.7 per specimen) and 30 anaerobic or micro-aerophilic (1.8 per...

Reconstruction in extensive axillary Hidradenitis suppurativa with local fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps

We present our experience with the use of local fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps in the reconstruction of 10 axillae in 6 patients for large defects following wide excision of long-standing Hidradenitis suppurativa of the axilla. The defects were closed with local V-Y subcutaneous island flaps. A single flap from the chest wall was sufficient for moderate defects. However, for larger defec...
